Episode 81 – Pumpkin in beer?

In Australia, we serve pumpkin alongside a roast dinner with gravy. So to see our US beery friends treat it as dessert and put it in beer is just something we had to try. What’s your view – trick or treat?

I tried my first pumpkin beer not too long ago and I was the same, not overly impressed either. Must be an american thing
I think you need to have grown up treating pumpkin as a dessert. Our brains were hoping for gravy, crackling and salt. Maybe a salted, pumpkin rauchbier would be the go?
